I love love love this delicate decoration. It adds a magical touch.

Here is one party food display that I absolutely love! Buffet style by Carla Aston. This was an idea for a Christmas buffet, but it looks perfect for any baby or bridal shower as well! I love the different salad dishes, appetizers, and ready to make sandwich supplies on hand. This is perfect for a special occasion.

Party: Murder Mystery Dinner

Happy 2013! It's a new year and last year was full of fun parties. My most recent party was during Christmas break. The hubby and me planned a Murder Mystery Dinner.  Here are some pictures of the night:

Here is the snack table with festive napkins labeled "Be Very Very Merry". Gotta love all the baked goods that come around the holidays. So why not share the goodies with party guests?

Here is a list of what we have here-

From left to right, starting from the top: Peppermint bark, assorted Pepperidge Farm cookies, gum drops, dried coconut strips (mmm), Muddy Buddies, potato chips, and more peppermint bark. Bottom Left: Chex Mix, crackers, chocolate covered yums, Triscuit and  Wheat Thins platter, secret dipping sauce, Quinoa chips, and utensils...

The Secret Dipping Sauce
My favorite snack this Christmas was the SDS. Keep it in the fridge and use with bread, tortilla chips, potato chips, or anything dip-able. The taste is a little sweet and spicy. I would post the recipe but it's a secret!

My hubby found the recipe for SDS online and we made a huge batch.  We filled jars with sauce, labeled them, and gave them to friends and family. I would make this sauce again. It can get addictive because it is so tasty.

Our Murder Mystery was set in the Old West, so here we are all dressed up. The City Slicker (Me), the Judge of Cactus Gulch (Chase), and the gambler Doc Holladay (Eric). It was a fun night for sure.

Check out freeformgames.com You will see our game titled "Way Out West".  There is a family version and an adult version.

Drinks Anybody?

Here is our open "bar". All equipped with water and soda. (see pic)

All in all the party went well. We had a potluck style dinner which helped us on setup and cleanup. We invited 15 people and emailed info with character bio's to them beforehand. Most everyone dressed up which was what I look forward to. And two people were "murdered" so Chase liked that part.

Party: Success!
